What is Broadcast Status?
Broadcast Status refers to the current state or progress of a broadcast message sent via Meta (e.g., WhatsApp Business API). Each message can go through several stages depending on delivery, user interaction, or technical issues.
Status Definitions
Status | Definition |
---|---|
Sent | The message has been successfully sent from the platform to Meta (e.g., WhatsApp servers). However, it has not yet been delivered to the end-user's device. |
Delivered | The message has successfully reached the end-user’s device, but it has not been opened/read yet. |
Read | The message has been delivered and opened/read by the end-user. This is only tracked if the end-user has read receipts enabled. |
Failed | The message could not be delivered due to an error. Common reasons include user blocking the business, expired message window, or technical/network issues. |
Failed after Delivered | The message was delivered to the user’s device but failed to display properly in the system due to unexpected technical issues (e.g., metadata mismatch or broken render on user's device). |
